Reading Corner

Got some extra time to catch up on all the reading you might have missed in the past decade? Here are some standards that promote well-being in a variety of ways:

How Not to Die, by Michael Gregor

This book delves into the science of plant-based eating and why vegetables will make us live longer. Plus, it’s an interesting examination of factors that do lead to death. How Not to Diet is the comprehensive follow-up.

Younger Next Year, by Chris Crowley

Geared for men 50 and older, this 2004 book still takes an accurate look at aging done right. Younger Next Year for Women came out shortly after and has much of the same good advice with some added wisdom about menopause and more.

When Things Fall Apart, by Pema Chödrön

An American Buddhist nun, Chödrön is a go-to voice for staying calm and taking things as they come. This classic is an invaluable read in the face of any hard time.
