How can I schedule a tour?

You can schedule a tour by calling our Granger Membership Office at 574.647.2597, our South Bend Membership Office at 574.647.2653, or feel free to just stop by! Tours for the new Elkhart facility start this July.

At what age can children become members?

Children can begin using the fitness facilities at 13-years-of-age, but children 12 and under are allowed youth memberships to the pool in Elkhart.

Do you have a military discount?

Yes! We offer all active duty service members $100 off the enrollment fee. Proper military identification is required.

Do you offer temporary memberships?

How much does a Guest Pass cost?

Our guest passes are $15 and allow guests to access the entire club Monday-Friday 5am-9pm and Saturday-Sunday 7am-5pm. That includes group exercise, pool access, and our fitness floor. Guest passes do not include Elkhart or Granger’s 24 hour access.

What is the Beacon Best Medicine program?

Beacon Best Medicine is clinical programming for individuals with specific medical conditions or injuries. Participants complete 6-week sessions of specially designed exercise classes that meet their needs and meet with Fitness staff to track physical improvement. Physician referrals are required to participate in Best Medicine. Members who come to Beacon Health & Fitness with a physician’s referral for our Best Medicine programs, receive $100 off their enrollment fee. What are the open times of the lap pool?

Our lap pool is available Monday-Friday 5am-9pm; Saturday and Sunday 7am-5pm. **Our Group Fitness classes or pre-scheduled events for Elkhart will limit the availability occasionally.

What are the open times of the therapy pool?

Our therapy pool is available Monday-Friday 5am-9pm; Saturday and Sunday 7am-5pm. **Our Best Medicine classes will limit the availability at certain times during the week. Call the Information Desk for better availability. Granger: 574-647-8460, South Bend: 574.647.2650

What is the temperature of the pool?

Our pools are generally kept around:
Lap pool/82 degrees
Therapy pool/92 degrees
Spa/102 degrees
Though these may very slightly from time-to-time.

Do you offer Silver Sneakers?

Beacon Health & Fitness facilities do not accept Silver Sneakers. For those interested in finding a local facility that does accept Silver Sneakers, explore an up-to-date list by visiting www.silversneakers.com

Will there be reduced fees for low-income families?

Membership rates are the same for all three locations. The Elkhart facility does offer a community commons space open to the public for no fee as well as open swim times.

ELKHART

What is Elkhart Health & Aquatics?

Elkhart Health & Aquatics is a collaboration between Beacon Health System, Elkhart Community Schools and the Community Foundation of Elkhart County. Envisioned by community leaders and visionary donors as a place of health, wellness and growth for Elkhart County, the facility will include northern Indiana’s largest aquatics center, indoor and outdoor common spaces and the region’s third Beacon Health & Fitness.

When will the facility be open?

Elkhart Health & Aquatics opens in the summer of 2019.

What is aquatics center all about?

The aquatics center will include a 50-meter competition pool with diving well. When completed, it will be the fifth swimming pool of its size for public use in the nation. It will include two moveable bulkheads, which will allow for multiple events to occur at the same time. The aquatics center will also include locker room facilities and spectator seating for up to 1,200 people.

What if I don’t want to use any other Beacon Health & Fitness feature besides the pool?

No problem! We have a pool-only membership available in Elkhart.

Each pool membership requires a $49 enrollment fee.

Will the pool be available for the community members without a membership?

What is the Beacon Best Medicine program? Will Parkinson’s CLIMB offered at the Elkhart facility?

What types of common spaces are available?

A number of common spaces are available, including a gymnasium, a large outdoor terrace, and multiple, flexible meeting spaces. Open swim times for the public are also available.

Who owns Elkhart Health & Aquatics?

Elkhart Health & Aquatics is 60 percent owned by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County, and 40 percent owned by Beacon Health System. The facility is operated and managed by Beacon.

The Elkhart schools reserved approximately $12MM to rebuild their 40+ year old pools from a prior referendum. Their $6MM contribution reduced their capital expenditure for new pool which were anticipated to cost $12-15MM. No tax increases are being implemented as a result of the Aquatics Center or the surrounding River District.

SOUTH BEND

How much is parking?

Parking in the Leighton Healthplex Parking Garage is complimentary for the first two (2) hours of your visit downtown. After two hours, a fee applies.

Can I receive a monthly member parking card for the South Bend parking garage?

Yes! DTSB (Downtown South Bend) requires a $10 cash/check deposit for a parking card. With this card you receive up to 4 hours of parking. Their office is located in the Main and Colfax Parking Garage, across the street from Fiddler’s Hearth.
