Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)

Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN®) is an advanced course designed for registered nurses interested in expanding their knowledge and skills in the management of multiple trauma patients. Specifically, the course is designed for nurses working in aeromedical programs, Emergency Departments, Operating Rooms and Intensive Care Units.

The ATCN Course is taught concurrently with the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®) Course for physicians. Thus, physicians and nurses have the opportunity to share a common language and approach to trauma care. Physicians and nurses are together for the interactive lectures and separate for the skills stations. The skills stations are taught in an interactive, hands-on, and scenario based approach. ATCN participants receive both the ATCN Student Manual and the ATLS Student Manual.
