Advanced Trauma Life Support
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course, a continuing medical education program, teaches established standards of trauma care and practical life-saving skills. The course is designed for physicians treating trauma patients in emergency or surgical settings.
The initial assessment and management of specific types of injures are presented to participants through lecture and slide presentations. The two-day course also includes unique skill stations; at each station, the instructors demonstrate specific techniques and supervise participants’ practice of the skills in simulated situations.
