United Health Services: Suicide Prevention Center

The Suicide Prevention Center (SPC) is seeking funding to end the crisis of teen suicides in our region.  The Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program is an evidence-based, National Best Practices Registry Program presented to youth in their classrooms or in large groups.  This interactive, engaging program teaches suicide risk factors, debunks the myths, builds resilience, and gives students a plan for prevention, preparedness, and intervention.  It empowers teens to ask for help and to identify a trusted person who they will reach out to. Each student receives an Ask4Help! Card, which is an essential tool to use when a crisis arises for the teen or a friend.  The program is proven to reduce teen suicides, increase protective factors, identify resources and know when, and how, to ask for help.
