Acupuncture dates back some 5,000 years and is one of the world’s oldest systems of medicine. Following tha basic laws of nature, acupuncture restores balance and harmony to our vital life force. It is a gentle, drug-free appoach to healing which ahs the capacity to address the needs of the individual’s body, mind and spirit. Acupuncture deals with the whole person and promotes an improved state of health and an enhanced quality of life.
Massage therapy provides much-needed comfort and relaxation, makes you feel whole again and rebuilds a sense of hope. The hands-on techniques of modern therapeutic massage provide a crucial bridge between the physical body and the amazing healing power of the human spirit.
Good nutrition is an integral part of your treatment and plays a vital role in your health as a survivor. Our dietitians specialize in cancer-specific nutritional therapy. They provide comprehensive nutritional therapy before, during and after treatment, lead education programs and offer individual consultations. Working with you and the other caregivers, they customize their recommendations to help you manage treatment-related side effects such as nausea, vomiting, taste changes and bowel irredularities.
Exercise, during and after cancer treatment is proven to enhance recovery. Moderate exercise can help improve your mood, reduce pain and stomach issues and give you more energy. As a patient of the cancer center, you get 12 free sessions at the Restorative Fitness Center. Through this program, each patient receives a customized exercise plan developed by our specialists.
Our yoga classes are designed specifically for patients with cancer. Beginner to intermediate skill levels are welcome. Sessions combine restorative and gentle movements along with more advanced movements, depending on the ability of each patient. Increase strength and flexibility, improve your health and reduce stress.
