Executive Profiles: Danielle Gagliano and Greg Conrad

With more than 7,000 associates across four counties and around-the-clock staffing, it can be pretty challenging to get to know people outside our departments. It can be even more difficult to become familiar with those in executive leadership because of their demanding schedules. To help bridge that gap, we will be featuring executive profiles each month that we hope will not only shed more light on what our top leaders do in their day-to-day work, but also highlight their personal lives.

Danielle Gagliano
Beacon Chief Strategy & Planning Officer

Danielle Gagliano may be among the busiest people in Beacon Health System — that’s because she’s engaged in the immense task of setting the direction for Beacon’s priorities and goals. As Chief Strategy & Planning Officer, Danielle works with senior leadership, in collaboration with management and physicians, to establish Beacon’s strategic direction. It entails the following:

  • Assessing our organization and the market
  • Formulating our strategies and identifying our priorities
  • Strategy execution
  • Checking our results

“I like to tell people that the planning process is about getting all the wheels of the organization rolling in the same direction.”

She also oversees Beacon’s Market Research and Government Relations.

A native of South Bend, Danielle moved back home in 2007 to join Elkhart General as its Vice President of Strategy and Marketing.

Beacon is near and dear to Danielle’s heart. “Being part of Beacon Health System is very personal to me because my family uses Beacon services. My 86-year-old mother Dorothy and other family members count on me to help them navigate the health care system.”

Away from work, Danielle and her husband Nick enjoy spending as much time as they can with their grown children, Anthony, 25, and Dayna, 23. She uses her free time to read John Grisham books and garden. Her love for cooking includes a passion for experimenting with new recipes. Says Danielle, “Our neighbors are the taste testers of all our cooking experiments.”

Greg Conrad
Beacon Health Ventures President

Providing care in a home and community setting is a rapidly growing segment of the health care industry. Leading the direction of Beacon’s home care services is Greg Conrad. As President of Beacon Health Ventures, Greg oversees all of the Home Care service areas, which include the Home Medical Equipment, Home Health Agencies, Personal Service Agencies and Infusion and Compounding Pharmacy locations.

But that’s not all. He’s also in charge of the Professional Services division, which provides school and correctional care, valet and parking services, cleaning services, courier service and medical staffing. In addition, he serves the system with Danielle Gagliano as liaison to government officials.

A 27-year associate of Beacon, Greg has been part of the executive leadership team for the last 12 years.

“I came to Memorial as I wanted to stay in the field of health care but wanted to have a job that served the local community that would allow me to spend more time with my family.”

And spending time with his family is a hallmark of Greg’s life outside of work. Married for 34 years to his wife Kathie, they have two married sons and a daughter who graduated from Bethel College in May, along with six grandchildren!

Greg keeps an active lifestyle, too, by spending time outdoors bike riding, fishing, rafting and farming. Yep, that’s right, Greg runs a farm that includes corn, beans and wheat. He also enjoys serving as an adjunct professor at his alma mater, Bethel College.
