In addition to being an exemplary clinician, Dr. Nasr is admired among staff and colleagues as a teacher, researcher and leader.

Personable, kind and compassionate, his work as the medical director for Beacon Behavioral Health Services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings provides hope and healing to our psychiatric patients.

“Dr. Nasr is a natural-born advocate for behavioral health patients and behavioral health care workers,” explains a staff member at Memorial Epworth Center. “He works hard to ensure high-quality care and services are available to those who need it.”

Each day, Dr. Nasr’s commitment to exceptional patient care blends his superior knowledge of psychiatric medication management to improve patients’ acute illnesses with a team approach to strengthen programs to benefit patient outcomes.

As a teacher, Dr. Nasr is passionate about continually educating team members.

“Several of the Epworth nurses have shared with me that they like it when Dr. Nasr rounds because of how easy it is to ask him questions and how much they learn from his knowledge and expertise,” explains one team member.

“He is constantly challenging our team to be the best and provides the leadership support necessary to achieve it!” says another staff member.

Dr. Nasr’s dedication to his field reaches well beyond Beacon, too. He’s widely published and often shares his leading-edge work in the community. Our local news media has interviewed him about using transcranial magnetic stimulation to treat depression and, more recently, about a study on the effects of light therapy on the well-being of dementia patients.
