EGH HME Learning Experience & Cases Studies

Presented By: Allyson Schiefer, Bethany Lutter, Patrick Watson,  and Zach Dubois

Learning Objectives:

  • To present an interesting case encountered during the HME experience
  • To discuss pathophysiology of the disease process involved
  • To review intervention, patient course and outcome

This year for the Hospital Medical Education (HME) Program we had four students: Allyson Schiefer, Bethany Lutter,  Patrick Watson, and Zach DuBois. During this program Allyson, Bethany, Patrick, and Zach were all in between their first and second year of medical school.

The HME  program allows these students to get a feel for the day in a life of a physician. The students get a chance to spend a day or two in over 30 specialties! These now 2nd year medical students will share with you an interesting case they encountered during their HME experience, discuss pathophysiology of the disease process involved, and review the intervention and the patient outcome.
