Mast Cell Disorders- More Common Than Diabetes?
Presented By: James B. Harris III, MD – Allergy and Immunology, EDS Clinic
Jim Harris, M.D. grew up in Iowa, where he attended Wartburg College, then medical school at the University of Iowa. After completing his MD degree, he completed a residency in pediatrics and fellowships in Allergy and Immunology as well as Pediatric Pulmonology. He now treats both children and adults, specializing in the full range of allergic diseases, including nasal allergies, sinus disease, asthma, food allergies, and skin problems like eczema and hives.
Jim Harris, M.D. says that he wanted to be a doctor as long as he can remember; his dad was a dentist and his mom a nurse, so he knew early on he wanted to go into the medical field. He suffered from severe allergies and asthma as a child and it affected him so much that he decided to become an allergist so he could help others with the same problems. He loves his practice because, with all of the treatments available today, there’s so much he can do to help people.
