Opioids and Cannabinoids in Pain Management

Learning Objectives: 

  • Understand the history of the opioid crisis
  • Understand opioid induced hyperalgesia
  • Understand the use of cannabinoids in pain management


Dr. Cooke received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed an internship at Michigan State University Borgess Medical Center. He completed his residency in anesthesia from Providence Hospital, Southfield, Michigan. Dr. Cooke is board-certified in anesthesia and pain management. He serves as Medical Director of Memorial Pain Control Center.
