  • Review the epidemiology of an outbreak of lung injury associated with the use of e-cigarette, or vaping, products
  • Discuss different types of e-cigarettes and their use in the United States
  • Examine the link between vitamin E acetate and lung injury associated with e-cigarette, or vaping, products


Erin D. Moritz is currently an officer with the Epidemic Intelligence Service and is assigned to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Erin does research in Public Health, Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology. Her most recent publication is ‘Notes from the Field: Outbreak of Severe Illness Linked to the Vitamin K Antagonist Brodifacoum and Use of Synthetic Cannabinoids – Illinois, March-April 2018’.
