Pediatric Hospital Medicine: An Update on New Recommendations for the Non-Hospital Provider

Learning Objectives: 

  • Determine why narrow spectrum antibiotics for community acquired pneumonia are preferred.
  • Evaluate a neonate/infant that has a fever without source.
  • Discuss options for bronchodilators and corticosteroids to treat asthma exacerbations
  • Review the new guidelines for maintenance IV fluids and bronchiolitis


Dr. Rossow, a South Bend native, attended Indiana University for both undergraduate education and medical school. She completed her pediatric residency at Indiana University and Riley Hospital for Children. Dr. Rossow is board- certified in pediatrics. She has two children. In her free time she enjoys reading, going on cruises and spending time with her family.
