Learning Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of the health of St. Joseph County (SJC)
  • Review selected initiatives of the strategic plan of the SJC Department of Health (DoH) and progress toward accomplishing those initiatives
  • Explore opportunities for greater collaboration among Beacon Health System and SJCDoH

Robert Einterz, M.D. is the Health Officer of St. Joseph County and professor emeritus of Indiana University School of Medicine. Prior to moving to South Bend in 2020, Dr. Einterz served as the founding director of the Indiana University Center for Global Health, founding director of the AMPATH Consortium, and as a primary care internist and hospitalist at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. Dr. Einterz and his wife Lea Anne were married 37 years ago in Lydick, Indiana. They have six children.
