He earned his Bachelor of Science in human biology from Michigan State University in 2013\, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2020. \nDr. Cooney completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Lewis Gale/Chippenham Medical Center program in Salem and Richmond\, Virginia\, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year (2022–2023). In this role\, he demonstrated a commitment to excellence in both clinical practice and medical education\, guiding fellow residents and contributing to program development. \nWith a passion for delivering high-quality emergency care and mentoring future healthcare professionals\, Dr. Cooney brings a balanced blend of academic rigor\, leadership experience and compassionate service to every patient encounter.
