Dr. Janel Charlton<\/strong>\u00a0joined the Family Medicine Residency Program in 2012 and took the position of Senior Associate Director in 2017. Drawing on her experiences as a former Chief Resident in the program, she understands the importance of strong communication between the faculty and residents. Dr. Gerrit Seymour<\/strong>\u00a0is a dedicated medical student currently continuing his education in South Bend. Originally from Kaysville, Utah, Gerrit developed a deep interest in global health and underserved populations through his two-year missionary service in Bulgaria and Turkey with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That passion led him back to Turkey, where he worked with The Center for Middle Eastern Strategic Studies, focusing on the Syrian Civil War and the resulting refugee crisis.<\/p>\n
