Have a desire to participate in the region's premier athletic event, but that bum knee is keeping you off the course this year?
Nearly 10,000 runners, walkers and skippers need your help! (Besides, volunteers get a nifty T-shirt and lunch on us!). Bring a group of 10 or more volunteers to man a water station and have fun with your friends as thousands of runners pass through!
At the College Football Hall of Fame, on the course, at a water stop ... we have just the right job for you (and your family, friends, acquaintances, distant relatives, neighbors, neighbors to whom you just give a wave, and all those folks you send a note to once year during the holidays)! Sunburst Volunteer Positions
A first impression is a lasting impression! There are three shifts for smiling volunteers to help with race registration, packet pickup, gear check-in, and start line at the former College Football Hall of Fame. Come see your friends (old and new) as they pick up their bibs, chips, and get ready to run Sunburst!
- Friday, June 2, from 11:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. - Century Center, Great Hall
- Friday, June 3, from 3:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Century Center, Great Hall
- Saturday, June 3, from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. - SB Cubs Performance Center Parking Lot
Finish Line at Irish Green
How do you make hot, tired and sore runners happy after a race? Hand them medal, smile and "congratulations" and you'll be a hero! Volunteers help with awards, towels, food, directions, and gear-pickup at the finish line.

Course Marshall & Individual Water Stop Volunteers
Want the undying gratitude of thousands of runners and walkers? Hand out cups of water to thirsty race participants, play music, entertain, control pedestrian traffic, or direct runners in the right direction! The opportunities and fun are endless.
