Sunburst is proud to offer the following training resources and information for runners.
Before You Start Training
Training for a race can be a fun, exhilarating process, especially as you set and meet your training goals. However, it's important to keep in mind that running is not an injury-free sport. Whether you are healthy, injured, have recently recovered from an injury, or if you have or suspect you might have a health problem that could worsen or otherwise be affected by training for a race, you should consider talking to your doctor before beginning your training program.
If you do not have a doctor, the physicians of Beacon Medical Group Sports Medicine are dedicated to delivering comprehensive sports medicine for both injured and healthy athletes. Their physicians work closely with physical therapists, athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, primary care physicians and other medical professionals to help athletes of all ages and abilities achieve peak performance.
Services offered include:
- Fracture care
- Acute and chronic injury assessment
- Pre-participation physical exams
- Computerized gait analysis
You can reach them at their website or by calling 574.647.1670.
