Choose Beacon for award-winning care you can trust

When it comes to your health, choosing the right care matters — and Beacon Kalamazoo is proud to be recognized among the nation’s best by Healthgrades®, a trusted source for hospital quality ratings.

For the second year in a row, Beacon Kalamazoo was named by Healthgrades as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals (2024–2025). The hospital was also named one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals for the last six years in a row (2020–2025), placing it among just the top two percent of hospitals nationwide.

“These recognitions reflect not only the incredible dedication of our entire team here at Beacon Kalamazoo, but also our commitment to providing outstanding healthcare for our community,” said Carl Risk, President of Beacon Kalamazoo. “I’m grateful for our devoted physicians, advanced practice clinicians, caregivers, and other supporting team members, and proud of the care they provide. At Beacon, we remain committed to improving patient outcomes and ensuring every member in our community feels confident choosing us for their care.”

Beyond overall performance, Beacon Kalamazoo received recognition from Healthgrades in several specialty areas, including being named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care, Pulmonary Care, Joint Replacement, and Spine Surgery.

“I am deeply proud of the recognition Beacon Kalamazoo has received from Healthgrades, particularly in the area of cardiac care,” said Dr. Vishal Gupta, Cardiologist at the Beacon Kalamazoo Heart Institute, Chief of Medicine, Medical Director of the Beacon Cardiovascular Lab and Medical Director of Structural Heart & Fellowship. “These honors reflect the dedication of our care teams and our ongoing commitment to providing safe, high-quality care that delivers the best outcomes for our patients, while ensuring compassionate, world-class treatment close to home.”

Beacon leaders say these recognitions underscore not only past achievements but also the promise of the future.

“Despite the post-COVID healthcare challenges hospitals everywhere continue to face, we’ve managed not only to maintain high-quality care but to rise into the Top 100 hospitals nationally,” said Barbara Mulder, Director of Quality and Patient Safety at Beacon Kalamazoo. “Now that we’re part of Beacon Health System, the sky is the limit for where the future will take us.”

For our community, these awards mean more than national recognition — they’re a reflection of the care our neighbors, families, and friends receive every day. Whether it’s a routine check-up or a life-saving procedure, patients can feel confident knowing they’re receiving care from a top hospital.
