When to seek immediate medical care
See a doctor immediately if:
Bloody or discolored urine
Painful urination, a strong urge to urinate, or difficulties urinating or emptying the bladder
Pain in side, lower abdomen, or groin
Loss of bladder control
Fever

Make an appointment to see a doctor if:
No apparent cause, such as drinking more total fluids, alcohol, or caffeine
Disrupts sleep or everyday activities
Excess thirst
Daytime fatigue
