Spondylosis is age-related wear and tear of the spinal disks. This condition is common and worsens with age. It's often used to describe degenerative arthritis, known as osteoarthritis, of the spine.
Most people don't have symptoms. When symptoms do occur, they typically include pain and stiffness.
If symptoms occur, treatments include medicines, corticosteroid injections, physical therapy and, sometimes, surgery.
