New Option for Patients with Heart Disease

This month, Beacon Health System began offering The Dr. Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease™, available exclusively from Healthways. The unique, noninvasive approach addresses the root causes of heart disease rather than just its symptoms.

Led by Luisito Gonzales, M.D., Medical Director of the Ornish program at Elkhart General Hospital, and Andrew Fiedler, M.D., Medical Director of the Ornish program at Memorial Hospital, the program focuses on exercise, stress management, nutrition and group support. Participants attend 18 four-hour group sessions over a nine-week period.
