Did you know that National Volunteer Appreciation Week is April 10 – 16? Volunteers impact all aspects of the patient experience from greeting at the front door, escorting patients and visitors, working on units, rocking babies, delivering mail, baking cookies and much more. You can thank them through your actions, including, sharing a hug or warm smile and getting to know them.
Elkhart General Hospital Volunteers 2015 Key Stats:
• 197 adults volunteered nearly 29,000 hours
• 5 college students began volunteering in 2015
• 21 junior volunteers totaled nearly 650 hours
• Total=223
Memorial Hospital Volunteers 2015 Key Stats:
• 250 adults volunteered nearly 30,000 hours
• 175 college students volunteered nearly 5,000 hours
• 40 junior volunteers totaled nearly 2,000 hours
• Total=465
