Beacon Health System names Gregory Piper new Beacon Allegan president
Beacon Health System announces that Gregory Piper has been named president of Beacon Allegan, a critical access hospital in southwest Michigan. Piper has served as interim president since November 2025.
Piper brings 25 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role, with expertise in operational excellence, strategic planning and organizational growth. Prior to his interim appointment, Piper served as Beacon’s Vice President of Retail Operations, where he led critical operational functions across the health system. This included executive oversight of Beacon Granger Hospital from its opening in November 2019.
“I am honored to lead Beacon Allegan,” Piper said. “Serving this community as interim president has deepened my commitment to our mission of delivering outstanding care in southwest Michigan.”
As a critical access hospital serving rural communities, Beacon Allegan plays a vital role in ensuring residents have access to quality care close to home.
“It’s an honor to work alongside a dedicated team that embodies compassion, teamwork and resilience,” he added. “I’m energized by how strongly our Beacon values align with our new board of volunteer community leaders. I look forward to continuing to build relationships with associates, providers and community partners as we strengthen healthcare access across the region.”
Piper began his career at Beacon Health System in 2001 as Distribution Manager at Memorial Hospital and has progressed through leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including Director of Supply Chain Services, Executive Director of Supply Chain and most recently Vice President of Retail Operations.
Piper received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University.
