Surgery can be used to help diagnose as well as treat various types of cancer. Some cancers solely require surgery for treatment, while others require radiation and/or chemotherapy as well.

As part of our Breast Cancer Program, we will discuss advanced treatment options with you. Beacon treats all types and stages of breast tumors, both pre-cancerous and cancerous. Your treatment plan may include breast cancer surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy. Breast surgical oncology treatment is available at Beacon Kalamazoo. Daniel Barnas, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained specialist who specializes in the treatment of both benign and malignant breast conditions. He offers oncoplastic breast surgery which is a technique that removes cancer and also enhances cosmetic outcomes.
