Beacon Health System announces Maria Behr as new President at Three Rivers Health

Beacon Health System is proud to announce Maria Behr, MBA, BSPharm, as the new President of Three Rivers Health. Maria has worked in healthcare and served Beacon for nearly 30 years.

She will begin her new role on Oct. 17.

“We are very pleased that Maria has accepted the role of President of Three Rivers Health,” said Kreg Gruber, Beacon Health System CEO. “She has been one of our outstanding leaders at Beacon, expanding her responsibilities over the years.”

Maria currently serves as Vice President of Operations at Three Rivers Health. Since April 2022, she has been responsible for non-nursing operations and has led the hospital integration with Beacon. During this time, Maria has maintained her corporate role of leading the Beacon Pharmacy Departments from a strategy and alignment perspective.

She started her career in healthcare in 1992 as a Clinical Pharmacist at Elkhart General Hospital. She quickly rose to Pharmacy Manager, a position she held until 2015 when she was promoted to Director of Pharmacy. In 2018, Maria assumed the position of Executive Director of Operations at Elkhart General.

Maria earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She received her Master of Business Administration from Bethel University. Maria currently lives in South Bend and has two grown sons.

Maria serves on the Government Relations Committee of the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce. She is a Board Member of the Crossroads United Way and an Advisory Board Member of the 525 Foundation. In her spare time, Maria volunteers at Hope Ministries and the Ronald McDonald House.

“It has been apparent that Maria has developed a passion for the Three Rivers Health organization and community,” Gruber said. “She will be a great addition to an already outstanding leadership and associate team at Three Rivers Health. I am looking forward to working with Maria as we strengthen Three Rivers Health capabilities and services for the community.”
