Three Rivers Health making significant restoration progress following March storm

Just months after the March storm caused widespread damage across its campus, Three Rivers Health reports significant progress in recovery and restoration efforts.
Nine buildings across the Three Rivers Health campus sustained wind damage from the storm. Despite the impact, the hospital maintained full operations, ensuring patients continued to receive care without disruption.
“We didn’t miss a beat,” said Maria Behr, President of Three Rivers Health. “Even in the immediate aftermath of the hospital remained 100% operational. While our clinics were temporarily relocated, we worked hard to keep care as close to home as possible for our patients.”
Today, four of the damaged buildings are back in service.
Two practices affected by the storm have since returned to their original locations:
- Three Rivers Health Surgical Services, 715 S. Health Pkwy, Three Rivers, MI 49093
- Three Rivers Health Orthopedics, 1021 Hill St., Three Rivers, MI 49093
The former ProMed building, located at the corner of U.S. 131 and Broadway Street, was heavily damaged and remains out of service. The Beacon Kalamazoo Three Rivers Family Medicine clinic that was housed in that building was temporarily relocated to Portage and is expected to move back to Three Rivers into a building on Erie Street once renovations are completed.
Provider offices have been contacting patients to let them know where to go for their appointments. Patients are encouraged to confirm their provider’s location before their appointment. The best way is to contact the provider’s office directly. Patients can also check the MyBeacon patient portal or visit www.beaconhealth.org and click on the Three Rivers Health banner at the top of the home page to get the latest updates on providers who are temporarily relocated.
Behr expressed gratitude to the community in the days and months following the storm. “Their support has been absolutely incredible. It has made a difference every step of the way.”
She also praised Three Rivers Health associates for their resilience during a very challenging time. “Their commitment to our patients and to one another continues to make a meaningful difference.”
As restoration efforts continue, Three Rivers Health remains focused not only on rebuilding, but on improving. “We’re making strong progress,” Behr said. “Our goal is not just to restore what we had, but to build back in a way that better serves this community well into the future.”
