Job Summary
Beacon Medical Group is seeking a full-time Nephrologist to join an established nephrology practice serving patients throughout Northern Indiana. This position offers a diverse clinical practice encompassing inpatient nephrology consults, outpatient nephrology care, and dialysis management across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will be an experienced nephrologist who enjoys practicing across the full spectrum of kidney disease management while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, hospital teams, and dialysis staff.
The physician will provide inpatient nephrology coverage at both Memorial Hospital of South Bend and Elkhart General Hospital, caring for established nephrology patients and managing a variety of acute and chronic kidney conditions. The physician will serve as a valued consultant to hospital-based providers while delivering evidence-based care focused on improving patient outcomes and care coordination.
The position also includes outpatient nephrology practice responsibilities at Beacon Medical Group nephrology clinic locations. Providers will care for patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, electrolyte disorders, glomerular diseases, transplant-related concerns, and other nephrology conditions. Physicians are supported by an infrastructure that allows them to focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Dialysis management is a key component of the practice. The physician will round at area DaVita dialysis centers and provide ongoing oversight of dialysis patients in collaboration with multidisciplinary dialysis teams. Providers work collaboratively and may round on partner patients when necessary to ensure continuity of care and exceptional patient service.
Call responsibilities are shared among physicians within the practice. During weekday coverage, physicians typically provide call coverage for either Memorial Hospital of South Bend or Elkhart General Hospital, while weekend coverage includes both hospitals. Call is generally focused on patients already established with the practice, though physicians participate in a rotating unassigned call schedule. During the unassigned coverage week, physicians may be consulted on renal patients without an established nephrologist or whose nephrologist does not hold privileges at the admitting facility.
This opportunity is ideal for a physician seeking a balanced and rewarding nephrology practice that combines hospital-based care, outpatient nephrology, dialysis medicine, and collaborative call coverage while serving communities throughout Northern Indiana.
