Why choose Beacon Cancer Care?

At Beacon Cancer Care, you are at the very center of all we do. Beacon’s multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach puts you first. New cases are presented for review and discussion by surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists to determine the best course of care. Your board-certified provider team consists of surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, depending on your unique needs. They work collaboratively, along with you, to address your questions and concerns and develop your plan of care. Because Beacon is a Mayo Clinic Care Network member, your Beacon provider can also discuss your case with Mayo Clinic experts at no charge. Beacon Cancer Care is here for you, when and where you need us most: close to home.

At Beacon, you have access to world-class cancer care, close to home.

  • Nationally accredited locations: Memorial Hospital of South Bend and Elkhart General Hospital are accredited through the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer
  • Support teams: Our goal is to help you eliminate any barriers to care and address basic living needs so you can focus on managing your condition. That’s why our Cancer Care support teams help you and your family understand your diagnosis and treatment, identify needs and connect you to valuable resources. These include Beacon’s oncology social workers, dietitians, nurse navigators, medication assistants and financial counselors.
  • Surgical services: Our hybrid operating suites enable specialists to combine imaging services and surgical services in the same space. This allows for quicker, safer and more convenient access to medical imaging when you need accuracy most. We also use the most advanced da Vinci Surgical System available, including three da Vinci robots, which enhance the proficiency and capability of your already highly skilled surgical team.
  • Mayo Clinic Care Network: Our membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network means that your experts have experts. Your oncology team may consult with Mayo Clinic providers to ensure the best plan of action for your care.
  • National clinical trials: Beacon is the only system in the region offering cancer clinical trials. This means you have access to some of the most advanced treatment options, along with the highest quality of standard cancer care. Learn more about cancer trials.
  • Education and resources: We understand that cancer affects more than just your body. That’s why we offer educational resources and support groups to help you and your family during your cancer journey, as well as palliative care services. If you have an increased risk for certain cancers, our genetic counselor can advise you about how to protect your health.
