Inpatient Cancer Care Unit at Memorial

In Memorial Hospital’s Hematology and Medical Oncology Care Center, we strive to provide the highest quality care and an exceptional experience to our patients and their families through a patient-focused multidisciplinary approach.

Our Approach to Care

Each patient is cared for daily by a multidisciplinary team of experts: your Beacon Medical Group oncology physician, a nurse practitioner, your nurse on the unit, a clinical nurse specialist (CNS), oncology clinical pharmacist, dietitian, palliative care nurse, spiritual care, pain management nurse and a social worker.

This team of experts meets with you and your family, addressing all your needs and involving you in your care every day during your hospital stay.

As a patient-focused care center, we bring our experts and most services right to your room. Our services include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, blood product transfusions, nutritional support, pain and symptom management, spiritual care, pre- and post-care for bone marrow transplant patients, physical therapy, psychosocial support, pulmonary treatments as well as other supportive therapies.

Our compassionate nursing staff includes many who are oncology certified as well as those who have achieved certification in chemotherapy biotherapy treatments.

We also offer patients many complementary support services, including massage, healing touch and spiritual care.
