Get enough sleep, and try to keep a regular sleep schedule. Regular exercise and avoiding caffeine in the evening also may help.
When to seek immediate medical care
See a doctor immediately if:
- Chest pain, a racing heart, or shortness of breath
- Abnormal bleeding
- Feeling faint
- Severe pain
When to make a doctor's appointment
See a doctor if:
- Somnolence is lasting or affects work or relationships.
- Symptoms include nighttime snoring or pauses in breathing.
- Symptoms include sadness.
- It's hard to complete daily tasks.
