Dance Fever!

Two Beacon luminaries will light up the dance floor at this year’s “Dancing With Our Stars Miracle Auction” supporting South Bend’s Center for the Homeless on April 17: Diane Maas, Beacon Vice President of Managed Care and Business Development, and Lori Turner, Beacon Chief Marketing, Innovation and Customer Experience Officer. Both women are honored to participate in the popular “danceoff” fundraising event, featuring members of the community to help the Center break the cycle of homelessness. Lori_Diane_bobbleheads-for-webFor nearly 30 years, the Center for the Homeless (CFH) has provided an innovative service model that paves a path to self-sufficiency, changing the lives of thousands of homeless families and individuals. Beacon Health System operates a health clinic inside the CFH property — Beacon Medical Group Central Neighborhood Health Center. The clinic staff includes Brandon Zabukovic, M.D., MPA, FAAFP (Family Medicine), Mary Hope Griffin, M.D. (Pediatrics), and LuAnn Tracey, MSN, R.N., NP-C (Family Nurse Practitioner). Providing care to current and former CFH guests gives the team a unique perspective on the impact of the remarkable work of the Center for the Homeless. “It is pretty amazing to continue seeing these folks after they ‘graduate’ from the Center,” says Dr. Zabukovic. “So many of them go on to have truly enriching and productive lives. I have no doubt that the programming the Center provides saves lives and creates a population who are able to find independence, be productive, and give back to our community.” Support Diane Maas and Lori Turner as they compete for the chance to become “Dancing With Our Stars” champions! Online donations — which count as votes for the contestants — benefit the Center for the Homeless. Go to http://www.events.org/Stars/cPage.aspx?e=83645 to donate today!
