Be a Beacon Tip of the Month

BeWellBeing happy is a choice, and when you choose it at the start of your day, you get to decide what kind of day you will have. Help yourself choose to be happy by incorporating some of these things into your daily routine:

• Think of what you are grateful for, and jot it down or share it with a colleague. The act of putting the thought on paper or telling someone else allows room for happy thoughts to overcome not-so-happy moments you may encounter in your day.

• What puts a smile on your face? Listening to music, looking at a photo of your child, a quick work-out, sharing a story? Do it and reap the endorphin benefits of smiling. You may just make another person smile while you are at it.

• Spend time with people who make you happy. Happiness is contagious–catch it and pass it on.

• Connect with a child! They are experts at laughter, and it’s really hard to keep a straight face around a child.
