Beacon Health System names interim presidents for Beacon Allegan, Beacon Dowagiac hospitals

Beacon Health System has announced strategic leadership changes at three of its southwest Michigan hospitals, effective November 1, 2025.

Greg Piper

As part of Beacon’s commitment to community-focused care, the health system is redesigning the current administrator role and establishing local president roles at its critical access hospitals, Beacon Allegan and Beacon Dowagiac, to strengthen local leadership and enhance service delivery.

Effective November 1, Greg Piper, Vice President of Beacon Retail Services, will serve as Interim President of Beacon Allegan Hospital.

David Bailey

David Bailey, President of Community Hospital of Bremen, will serve as Interim President of Beacon Dowagiac Hospital. Both leaders will continue in their current roles and provide executive oversight for Beacon Plainwell Hospital as the health system implements this new leadership structure.

Paul Hoffman, Administrator for Beacon Allegan, Dowagiac and Plainwell hospitals, will move on from Beacon on October 31, 2025. Paul has provided valuable leadership during the integration of these hospitals into Beacon, and we wish him well in his future endeavors.

Searches for permanent presidents at Beacon Allegan and Beacon Dowagiac will begin immediately.

Beacon is committed to identifying leaders who are deeply invested in their communities and focused on expanding access and services to meet evolving patient needs.
