Beacon Granger Hospital expands footprint with new outpatient services

After about a year of construction, Beacon Health System has completed a 15,000-square-foot, two-story expansion at Beacon Granger Hospital, adding an outpatient center to meet the growing needs of patients.

The $11.9 million investment supported the addition of rheumatology and infusion services, laboratory services and outpatient therapy, including physical, occupational and speech therapy, at the acute care hospital conveniently located on the corner of Capital Avenue and Beacon Parkway.

“This expansion is driven by growing patient demand for convenient access to coordinated care close to home,” said Diane Maas, Chief Strategy and Digital Transformation Officer, Beacon Health System. “As a nonprofit health system, we reinvest in the services that directly respond to the health needs of the local community.”

The first floor features a rheumatology clinic and infusion center with infusion bays and exam rooms, a pharmacy and support spaces serving patients requiring specialty medications and infusion therapy for rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases and other connective tissue disorders.

An outpatient rehabilitation center on the second floor specializes in treating patients with Parkinson’s disease, stroke, spinal cord injury, balance and vestibular disorders as well as concussion and amputation. It also provides pelvic health services, lymphedema management and a wheelchair clinic.

Beacon Granger Hospital’s integrated care model reduces the time patients need to obtain specialty medications while providing patient-centered support for accessing treatments. The expansion also relocates dedicated cardiology space with exam rooms for heart care patients.

This is the hospital’s second expansion since opening in November 2019 with a 16-bed emergency department, eight inpatient beds and advanced diagnostic imaging in a 32,800-square-foot facility. In July 2022, Beacon completed a $4.8 million, 3,600-square-foot addition bringing outpatient MRI services to the hospital.

Along with the newly expanded services, Beacon Granger Hospital continues to offer 24-hour emergency care, radiology and imaging services including X-ray, CT, ultrasound and MRI, and cardiology services. Patients can schedule appointments online, check in digitally upon their arrival and access test results through their MyBeacon patient portal.
