With the help of a caring and expert team, patients work to regain physical functions, independence, and self-esteem. For conditions ranging from stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injury, to speech and language disorders, multiple trauma, and amputation, our team of rehabilitation therapists will work with your doctors and other professionals to help you get back on the road to recovery as soon as possible.
To ensure we are providing the highest quality care available, the inpatient rehabilitation programs at Elkhart General and Memorial Hospital have been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
Why Choose Beacon?
Beacon offers inpatient and outpatient therapies for people of all ages, including infants and children. Our services range from general rehabilitation care, including physical, occupational and speech therapies, to premier specialty programs that distinguish us from other health care providers in the region. These include:
- Two acute inpatient rehabilitation units – Reserved for patients who have severe injuries or paralysis following a traumatic accident or devastating side effects from a stroke or other neurological condition. Patients who are admitted to one of these elite units receive around-the-clock rehabilitation care until they’ve regained enough skills and abilities to transition from the hospital to their homes. The units are located inside Elkhart General Hospital and Memorial Hospital.
- Day treatment program – For patients recovering from traumatic brain injury, stroke or other neurological disorders. This unique program serves patients who still need intensive rehabilitation following their discharge from the hospital, but are able to return to their homes each night.
Some of our key services, including acute inpatient, stroke and brain injury rehabilitation, are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. We’ve earned this distinction by continuing to meet or exceed strict standards of care related to safety, quality and results.
Equally important, our doctors, licensed therapists and other team members partner with each patient, often serving as champions and cheerleaders along the road to recovery. Our team finds joy in helping people regain function, confidence and independence.
