Beacon redeploys nurses, providers to support near-record levels of COVID patients at hospitals

Beacon Health continues to have near-record levels of inpatient admissions with significant stress on its providers and staff throughout the organization.

The health system is redeploying nursing staff and providers from outpatient areas to support its acute care facilities because of this. Many nonclinical staff members are also volunteering to help with support roles at Beacon hospitals.

On a very positive note, review of inpatient outcomes has shown that Beacon has been able to discharge 90 percent of patients hospitalized with COVID. This is a testament to the tireless work and dedication of our Beacon team members who are making a difference in the lives of people across our community.
