Types of services that inpatient rehabilitation therapists provide include

We also provide

  • Neuropyschology

  • Case management
  • Community re-entry

With the help of a caring and expert interdisciplinary team, patients work to regain physical functions, independence, and self-esteem. For conditions ranging from stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injury, to speech and language disorders, multiple trauma, and amputation, our team of rehabilitation therapists will work with your doctors and other professionals to help you get back on the road to recovery as soon as possible.

Our inpatient units provide a safe environment for patients to learn important and challenging self-care skills before re-entering the home and community.

To ensure we are providing the highest quality care available, the inpatient rehabilitation programs at Elkhart General and Memorial Hospital have been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for Acute Inpatient Rehab and Stroke.

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Network

In collaboration with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, Beacon Health System offers inpatient rehabilitation for adults with brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, multiple traumas, amputations, cancer and other diagnoses.

Beacon is the first Indiana-based health system to join the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Network. The programs at both Elkhart General Hospital and Memorial Hospital of South Bend offer our patients the opportunity to stay close to home while receiving specialized inpatient rehabilitation care.
