Beacon’s neurosurgery team provides expert surgical and nonsurgical care for patients with conditions affecting the brain, spine and nervous system. We take a team-based approach to care, often starting you with a visit to one of our skilled nurse practitioners. During this appointment, your symptoms and concerns will be discussed and, together, we will determine the most appropriate next steps for your care.
What does a neurosurgery nurse practitioner do?
A neurosurgery nurse practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice clinician who works closely with neurosurgeons to guide patients through their care. NPs evaluate symptoms, help diagnose conditions of the brain, spine, and nervous system, and work with patients to develop personalized treatment plans. They often serve as the first point of contact, helping patients understand options and providing support every step of the way.
What makes the neurosurgery care team different from other specialists?
Neurosurgeons treat the entire spectrum of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord and column, and nerves in the arms and legs. Neurosurgeons have advanced training to treat all conditions of the brain and vertebral column.
Do I need a referral or imaging to schedule an appointment?
Conveniently schedule online with our nurse practitioners.
No referral and no initial imaging is required before you schedule with one of our providers.
