Our childbirth centers at Elkhart General Hospital and Memorial Hospital provide world-class care – from the beginning of your pregnancy to the birth of your little one and beyond. Our team of physicians, nurses, midwives and lactation specialists are committed to providing you with clinical expertise in a caring, nurturing environment.
Personalized pregnancy care with the right care team
No one knows your body better than you do. And, whether you are expecting your first or are an experienced mom, your questions—big and small—are important. That’s why the conversations between you and your OB-GYN or certified nurse midwife matter. You and your provider will talk through your preferences, personalizing your experience. Your care team may also include a birth navigator, nurses, lactation consultants, and other maternity specialists. Your entire care team works together to support you as you grow your family.
Comprehensive pregnancy and birthing care for expecting families
From prenatal to postpartum visits, we care for the whole you, including your emotional health. Prenatal care includes regular physical exams, where your provider monitors your blood pressure, weight, baby’s heart rate and growth. During these appointments, you also talk about family health history, risk factors and any other health concerns. We are focused on you and your family during your labor and delivery, providing a comforting environment, support for breastfeeding and bonding with your baby. Maternity care and services include:

Whether you choose to deliver with either a physician or a midwife in any of our private labor and delivery suites that are both spacious and comfortable. In the case of high-risk pregnancy or unexpected emergency, our team and facilities are fully equipped to provide urgent critical care for mom or newborn. During your stay, we provide care that includes breastfeeding education and support based on Baby-Friendly practices. After discharge, our lactation consultants continue to offer breastfeeding support services.
