The arrival of your baby is one of life’s most remarkable experiences. At the Community Hospital of Bremen, we work hard to ensure the birth of your baby is both a memorable and pleasant experience while you remain close to home.

The quality of your childbirth experience matters to us. Our top priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of mom and baby.

In order to help you prepare for the birth of your baby, we offer prenatal classes along with unit tours and car seat clinics.

We understand people have varied schedules and will try to be flexible and work around your schedule. Call to arrange a time that works for you – 574.546.8148.

Patient comfort

Once you arrive at the hospital, make yourself at home in our spacious, private LDRP suite. This Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum model allows mom to remain in the same room during her entire stay — without having to be moved to a different room or floor.

Each suite features:

  • Bassinet complete with supplies (there is a nursery available if you need some quiet rest time)
  • Birthing ball
  • Fold-out couches for the comfort of the father/partner/support person
  • Television
  • Infant security system for extra protection and peace of mind

 After delivery

For the remainder of your time in Community Hospital of Bremen, here is what you can expect:

  • Immediate skin to skin contact with mom and baby to promote bonding and breastfeeding
  • 24/7 rooming-in for mom and baby
  • Lactation consultants on staff to assist you with your baby’s feeding needs
  • Homestyle meals are made when ordered and delivered directly to your room
  • In-house baby photography

Higher level of care

Should your baby need critical care, the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Beacon Children’s Hospital will be ready for you. A Level III NICU, your baby, whether born prematurely or critically ill, will receive advanced care. Board-Certified experts staff our NICU: registered nurses, neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatologists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, a social worker and a parent care coordinator.
