Dr. Casey Clements is an emergency medicine physician and physician-scientist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he serves as Associate Practice Chair in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Staff Safety Officer. He is nationally recognized for his leadership in sepsis care, point-of-care diagnostics, and occupational safety in healthcare.

Dr. Clements earned his M.D. and Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed residency training at Mayo Clinic. He currently directs the Mayo Emergency Department Sepsis Program and leads the Sepsis Biobank. His work focuses on translational research and practice transformation—bridging lab discoveries to bedside application.

Throughout his career, Dr. Clements has championed staff and patient safety, spearheaded system-wide quality improvement initiatives, and published extensively on topics including emergency infectious diseases, weapons detection in hospitals, and innovations in clinician safety. He has been recognized with numerous awards for innovation, education, and leadership, including an Upper Midwest Emmy for healthcare communication.
