Sepsis Update

About the presenter
Dr. Chris Cooney is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with a strong foundation in clinical leadership and patient-centered care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in human biology from Michigan State University in 2013, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2020.
Dr. Cooney completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Lewis Gale/Chippenham Medical Center program in Salem and Richmond, Virginia, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year (2022–2023). In this role, he demonstrated a commitment to excellence in both clinical practice and medical education, guiding fellow residents and contributing to program development.
With a passion for delivering high-quality emergency care and mentoring future healthcare professionals, Dr. Cooney brings a balanced blend of academic rigor, leadership experience and compassionate service to every patient encounter.
