HME Learning Experience & Case Studies

Second Year Medical Students, IUSM and MU-COM

Learning Objectives: 

  • Present an interesting case encountered during the HME experience
  • Discuss pathophysiology of the disease process involved
  • Review intervention, patient course and outcome



The HME  program allows these students to get a feel for the day in a life of a physician. The students get a chance to spend a day or two in over 30 specialties! These now 2nd year medical students will share with you an interesting case they encountered during their HME experience, discuss pathophysiology of the disease process involved, and review the intervention and the patient outcome.

Accreditation Statement: The Beacon Health System of South Bend is accredited by the Indiana State Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation Statement:  Beacon Health System designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
