With their contagious smiles, comforting presence and huge hearts, our volunteers make Beacon Kalamazoo (Formerly Borgess Hospital) feel like home. Due to the nature of our work, there are a number of requirements that all volunteers must meet.
To volunteer at Beacon Kalamazoo, you must be 18 years or older and commit to volunteering for at least 6 months. After completing a volunteer application, you will undergo a background check, TB test, and health screening. All volunteers complete a phone interview, orientation, and training session. Volunteers are also required to receive a seasonal flu shot and complete ongoing education initiatives. Uniforms are required anytime you are volunteering.
These requirements ensure that volunteers are well-prepared and dedicated to supporting the mission of Beacon Kalamazoo. If you are interested in volunteering, please submit a volunteer application to start the process.
