About Us Find a provider Get a free recipe bookletWith their contagious smiles, comforting presence and huge hearts, our volunteers make Beacon Kalamazoo (Formerly Borgess Hospital) feel like home. Due to the nature of our work, there are a number of requirements that all volunteers must meet.
To volunteer at Beacon Kalamazoo, you must be 18 years or older and commit to volunteering for at least 6 months. After completing a volunteer application, you will undergo a background check, drug screen, TB test, and health screening. All volunteers complete a phone interview, orientation, and training session. Volunteers are also required to receive a seasonal flu shot and complete ongoing education initiatives. Uniforms are required anytime you are volunteering.
These requirements ensure that volunteers are well-prepared and dedicated to supporting the mission of Beacon Kalamazoo. If you are interested in volunteering, please submit a volunteer application to start the process.
